New Jersey to Seattle

Well, we made it safely to Seattle. We weren't quite sure we would make it to Newark Airport....the van driver was about 95 years old and probably should have had his license revoked several years ago.

In the United club we saw Roy Miller , left back for the New York RedBulls.  The RedBulls have a week and a half off and I'll bet Roy was on his way back to Costa Rica to play with his national team.

Trip was uneventful.  Harry and Linda were in first class and evidently they ran out of water AND Vodka before Harry even got his 5th drink.  Serves them right for leaving us in coach.  Ok, it was after only 2 drinks. Still serves them right.

Harry and I went to the 7-11 next door to get some beer and wine before we checked into out room.   Nice 2 room suite at the Residence Inn.  Tomorrow, we hit Seattle!

Testing mobile app

I'm testing a new blogger app from my iPhone. My first attempt went to the wrong blog, let's see if this works.

Doing the final packing, wracking my brain trying to think of what I'll need for the next 2 weeks. I'm sure we'll forget something(s). Oh well, it's not like I'm going into the wilderness for 2 weeks. They have stores in Alaska, right? I mean, Sarah Palin has to buy her makeup somewhere.

Just got my new camera lens for the trip (anniversary present, thanks honey!). When we went to Africa we rented a Cannon 200-400L. This time I've opted for a little more versatile and practical EF 70-300. Hopefully I can still get those Grizzly bear shots without being a Grizzly bear snack.

Car comes at 2:30, can't wait!

A new trip, a new blog

Instead of posting out photos and updates on facebook to get lost in a whirlwind of recipes, baby pictures and LOLcats, Sue and I decided to start a blog alongside our blog from our 2009 Africa trip so we could relive it in a single space.  Our itinerary is
 - August 31, 2012: Leave Newark Airport for Seattle
 - August 31 - September 2: Seattle with Harry and Linda
 - September 2- 4: Meet up with the rest of the crew in Fairbanks
 - September 4 - 5: Denali National Park
 - September 6 - 7: Mt McKinley wilderness
 - September 8 - 15: Cruise Anchorage to Vancouver
 - September 15 - 16: Back to Seattle to catch a flight back to Newark

Hopefully we'll have Internet access more often than we did in Kenya, so we'll try to keep this blog updated with lots of photos.  Come back and check it out!
